Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA)

We supply high-performance Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) operating from 20 MHz to 40 GHz, with output power levels from 100 W to 2.8 kW. All products are designed, engineered, and manufactured in the United Kingdom by POAM Electronics, ensuring full control over quality, reliability, and delivery.

Our amplifiers are custom-configured to meet exact system requirements, including power, frequency coverage, linearity, and pulsed or wideband operation. Ruggedised, IP67-rated enclosures are available for demanding outdoor and harsh-environment deployments.

Systems are designed and tested to meet relevant military and aerospace environmental and EMC standards, including MIL-STD-810 (environmental), MIL-STD-461 (EMC/EMI), and DO-160 (airborne), where specified. Standard models represent only a fraction of our capability; contact us to discuss a solution engineered specifically for your application.

An excellent alternative to travelling wave tube amplifiers, POAM – PAAB250-V4 is a solid-state Power Amplifier with an operating range of 34-36 GHz while achieving a minimum of 54 dBm (250 Watts) of instantaneous saturated power. With its maximum performance in gain, efficiency, signal flatness, and RF output power, this SSPA is the ideal building block for millimeter-wave sub-systems with wide-ranging applications.

Ka Band SSPA

250W Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) 2 to 18 GHz

The PA218G250-V4 is a 250W high-performance wideband power amplifier operating across a frequency range of 2 to 18 GHz for CW and Pulse applications.

 

This amplifier delivers a typical output power of 54 dBm and provides a typical small-signal gain of 50 dB, with a gain variation of ±1 dB. These exceptional performance characteristics are achieved using advanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology.

 

Designed for reliability and precision, the amplifier features an SMA connector for input and an N-Type connector for output. Additionally, it includes a calibration function, allowing users to maintain optimal performance over time and across varying temperature conditions.

 

The amplifier is designed to operate within a wide temperature range of -40°C to +75°C, ensuring consistent performance in diverse environments. This model is designed for harsh outdoor environments; however, please contact us if you prefer the rack-mounted model.
